Our Interior Painting Process

What happens from the moment you contact us to the final walk-through — no surprises, no shortcuts.

01
Free Estimate & Walkthrough
We come to you, walk the space, and talk through what you want. We look at the surfaces, note any repairs needed, and ask the right questions. You get a straight number — no hidden fees, no guesswork.
Before we touch anything
02
You Approve, We Schedule
Once you're happy with the estimate, we book a date. Right now we're typically 1 week out. We confirm the day before so you're never left wondering.
Communication
03
You Prep the Space
We ask that furniture is moved away from walls — ideally out of the room. The less we have to work around, the faster and cleaner the job. We'll help with large pieces that can't be moved easily.
Before we arrive
04
Surface Preparation
This is where we earn the money. We patch nail holes, sand rough spots, fill cracks, and prime bare areas. If there's water damage, old texture, or anything that will show through paint, we address it here. No shortcuts.
Day 1 — most important step
05
Taping & Protection
Every edge that borders a surface we're not painting gets taped. Floors get drop cloths. Hardware, outlets, and trim get masked. We protect your home like we're working in our own.
Before paint goes on
06
Cutting In
We cut in by hand along all edges — ceiling lines, trim lines, corners. This is the detail work that separates a quality job from a fast one. Clean lines here mean a finished look that actually looks finished.
Brush work
07
Rolling the Field
Walls and ceilings get rolled in full, even strokes. We apply a minimum of two coats on all painted surfaces unless the existing color is an exact match. Two coats means consistent color, proper coverage, and a finish that lasts.

Final Walk-Through
We walk every room with you before we consider the job done. You point out anything you want touched up and we handle it on the spot. We don't leave until you're satisfied. You also have a window after we're gone to create a punch list if you notice anything.

Why It Matters

Why We Do It This Way

Every step in our process exists for a reason. Here's why it matters for your home.

🔍
Prep Determines Everything
A wall that isn't properly prepared will show imperfections through the paint and cause early failure. We spend more time on prep than most painters because it's what actually makes the finish last.
🎨
Two Coats Is the Standard
One coat looks fine on day one. By month three it's patchy and uneven. Two coats gives you consistent color, proper sheen, and a finish that holds up to cleaning and daily wear.
🤝
Walk-Through Is Non-Negotiable
We don't consider a job done until you've seen it and signed off. That final walk-through is your opportunity to catch anything before we leave — not after.

What to Expect When You Book PSQP

From the moment you reach out to us, you're dealing with Ricardo directly. No call centers, no middlemen. We talk through your project, give you a real estimate, and show up when we say we will.

We've built PSQP around the idea that homeowners deserve a painter they can actually trust. That means clear communication, honest pricing, and work that holds up. If anything changes during the job, you hear it from us before we touch it.
